Hinamatsuri 2026
-Ballet & Luncheon
KAMIÉLLE TOKYO
A day to redefine Japan's beautiful traditional festival, wishing for the healthy growth and happiness of women, with a modern sensibility.
Hinamatsuri is a
beautiful Japanese festival wishing for the healthy growth and happiness of women.
It is a traditional Japanese event that has been held annually on March 3rd.
When we were children, Hinamatsuri was something we took for granted, but as we grew older, we rarely stopped to reconsider its meaning.
KAMIÉLLE TOKYO created this day by re-examining Hinamatsuri, this traditional festival, through our modern sensibilities.
The Meaning Embedded in Hinamatsuri
The roots of Hinamatsuri lie in the custom of "yakubarai" (exorcism), where illnesses and misfortunes were transferred to dolls to purify oneself. This custom merged with the court culture of the Heian period and eventually grew into a festival embodying Japan's unique aesthetic sensibilities.
Beauty
Dignity and sophistication emanating from within
Refinement
Learning to polish intellect and sensibility
Grace
A dignified demeanor and spirit
Harmony
Respecting differences and standing together
The Image of Women Symbolized by Hina Dolls
Protected Existence
Precious lives cherished with care
Empowered Existence
The power to choose and build one's own life
Hina dolls are not only a protected existence, but also a symbol of women who will lead a healthy life on their own two feet.
Rather than entrusting their lives to others, they choose for themselves and create their own happiness. Celebrating this figure was the original meaning of Hinamatsuri. Japanese women, since ancient times, have inherited the spirit of valuing independence and dignity through this festival.
Hinamatsuri in the Modern Era
A day to celebrate women choosing their own happiness, authentically and gracefully.
Reflect
Heartfelt gratitude for healthy growth to date
Affirm
Embrace who you are now, just as you are
Envision
Envision happiness in the life ahead
To reinterpret it with modern sensibilities, Hinamatsuri is a festival for women living their lives. Even as times change, the desire for women's happiness remains constant. KAMIÉLLE TOKYO expresses this beautiful tradition in a way that resonates with us living today.
Therefore, we chose
"A Day to Experience Art"
See
Authentic art opens up sensibilities
Feel
Beyond words, it reaches the heart
Grow
Beauty and elegance quietly dwell
The beauty, elegance, and harmony of spirit that Hinamatsuri has cherished. We believe that these are not things that can be explained in words, but rather things that quietly grow through encountering the genuine article.
Therefore, this Hinamatsuri will be spent as a day to experience art. A genuine art experience will awaken the sensibilities dormant within us and lead to new encounters with ourselves.
Art to Experience on This Day

We will attend a performance by the Tokyo Ballet Company
A stage where body, music, and space intertwine is an art that speaks directly to the senses, transcending reason. One of KAMIÉLLE's members will also be performing on that stage.
Sharing the same time and space. That in itself is the essence of this Hinamatsuri. We will together experience a special moment where the stories unfolding on stage resonate with our own lives.
Program: [Legends Gala]
Béjart's "The Rite of Spring" ✕ Neumeier's "Seven Haiku for the Moon" ✕ Kylián's "Petit Mort"
A splendid triple bill by three grand masters, proudly presented by the Tokyo Ballet Company.
A special gala performance bringing together 20th-century ballet masterpieces.
Where Hinamatsuri and Art Intersect
Refine Sensitivity
Create Space in Your Heart
Confront Yourself
Nurture Your Inner Self
Hinamatsuri has always wished for healthy growth and happiness. Time spent engaging with art nurtures these wishes within us.
KAMIÉLLE TOKYO believes that Hinamatsuri and art naturally overlap. Both have the power to awaken a woman's inner beauty and enrich her life.
Luncheon at Tegoma-zushi
Before the ballet performance, we arranged a special luncheon in an elegant private room at "tegoma-zushi," embodying the essence of Japanese culinary culture.
Savoring exquisite sushi, this moment allows us to share the moving experience of art together. Surrounded by beautiful dishes and engaging in conversation, this time will be an irreplaceable experience celebrating Hinamatsuri with a modern sensibility. By gathering around the same table and sharing rich experiences, we further deepen the bonds of KAMIÉLLE.
